In the context of the status quo where the practice of free speech is becoming a privilege, instead of a right, democracy is endangered. It is more and more imperative to foster discourse in the field of politics, economics, international relations, and such, so as to encourage learning through speaking. As the debating and adjudicating community within Mindanao continues to grow in the national and international arena, we continually call for more talents to speak out and chase their debate dreams.

For this year’s theme, we immerse ourselves in fantasies and daydream. As we are bound to explore the creative minds of debaters and adjudicators alike. We are more than ready to witness flaming passions, intense arguments, and such! Many want to be heard, we aim to fulfill this by providing a platform for healthy and productive discussions, simultaneously building connections. The Xavier Debate Circle is inviting all the debaters and adjudicators to the 7th installment of the Mindanao Intervarsity Debate Competition this coming November 25-27, 2022.
